In spring 2011 we took on a five-year lease of the Clevedon Community Orchard. Since then we have held community events such as Wassailing, The Big Lunch and of course the apple harvest. There have been opportunities to go mothing and to learn about brush cutting and scything. We are very grateful for the hard work of the Woodcutters for Wildlife who undertake all the routine clearing of the orchard and to Angela Slotte for help and guidance with the pruning.
During the first year Dee Holladay did a survey of the flora of the orchard and the results can be seen here http://orchardflora.wordpress.com/.
Last year we had a good apple harvest and this has been made into local cider to enjoy at our social events.
