Chasing Ice Film at the Curzon Sunday 8th September – please come

This coming Sunday – 8th September – we’re co-hosting a screening of Chasing Ice with the Curzon Community Cinema in Clevedon, so please come!

PLEASE note the earlier start time of the film: doors open 6pm, film starts at 7pm.

It should be a great community based evening:

6-7pm various community and environment groups will have displays and stalls, including Low Carbon Gordano, the Community Bookshop and North Somerset Sustainable Travel

We’re also launching our map of all the cycle and footpaths in Clevedon – which we’re hoping will encourage people to get out of their cars, get fitter and help the environment. Free copies will be available for everyone on the night, and afterwards we will distribute them at key places in Clevedon.

There will be a very reasonably priced meal available from Arnett’s Pop-up-Kitchen and beer on tap from Clevedon’s own Twisted Oak Brewery. The cinema’s bar will also be open.

From 7pm we’ll be showing the film Chasing Ice – Chasing Ice is a stunningly beautiful film made using time-lapse cameras over a period of years. These have shown how glaciers all round the world are moving and disappearing. For a taste of the film, which many in the environmental world think is more powerful than An Inconvenient Truth, go to (Normal ticket prices apply).

After the film we will hear from Darren Hall, the Green Capital Partnership Manager for Bristol’s winning bid to be the European Green Capital 2015. He will be telling us something of what that will mean as well as taking a Q & A session about relevant issues raised.
